Before I started to use Cricut machine, I hand cut all my flowers. There are a few things you have to be careful making them. It is a little difficult to get a good balance unless you are using a template to trace. This video is about making paper flowers without using a template. So the key is to keep the same size paper for petals :) This method is also great to make more organic look in the flowers. Hope you enjoy!
While most of my tutorials are machine cut (I use Cricut Explore Air 2), I also like to make flowers with just origami papers.
These roses are very pretty and very easy to make.
All you need is some origami paper, scissors and glue.
You can use these flowers on flat surfaces such as frames and table settings, or
you can make a beautiful bouquet just like this video.
6- 3x3 origami papers for one rose
1- 3x3 origami paper for sepal part.
wire, glue, scissors.
How I first found the paper flower making was completely an accident.
The summer of 2017, my daughters participated a local theater production,
“Wizard of OZ.” As a parent, I was volunteering whatever they needed to make.
One day, they asked if anyone could make flower hats which will be the part of costumes/sets in Munchikinland.
Then, I started experiment with papers to make flowers.
Little did I know the paper flower making was a thing!
We made 30 hats with colorful paper flowers, and they looked fabulous on the stage!
I completely fell in love with how pretty paper flowers are! And it's so easy to make!!!
Even after the production ended, I couldn’t get it enough.
So I started experimenting the kind of flowers I may want for myself.
That’s when I found some people selling paper flowers and templates for living!
Over the last few years, I started designing and selling my own templates and flowers
and the business of paper flowers grew rapidly.
Now I also have a YouTube channel, PaperLuv for tutorial videos.
All the tips I share are coming from my personal experiences, researches and trials and errors.
With the information I share, I hope you find the fun of making paper flowers!
